Ever since Jonathan and I started rubbing shoulders with the BIC church crowd, we’ve heard of this epic place called Macha Hospital. The stories we heard of the doctors, nurses, researchers and missionaries were filled with hope, success and, yes, realism. Even though Malawi is just a country away from Zambia, it is not a simple journey to get there! We were delighted when our team began discussion a pitstop and overnight at Macha on our trip to retreat this year. Finally, we were able to see where some of our coworkers have labored over 40 years in medical ministry and research.
We enjoyed a tour of the hospital and Macha Research Trust where groundbreaking work has been done regarding measles, malaria and HIV/AIDS.
It was a privilege to hear story upon story of God’s faithfulness and creativity through hardship as he worked through lives of the medical missionaries at Macha!
